Top 100 Golf Courses of the World is the ranking list on which every golf facility would love to appear. To be on this list means to have not only a great course but add something extra, something exceptional. Many of these great layouts have been ranked within the World's Top 100 since golf course rankings began. The Old Course at St Andrews, Augusta National, Royal Melbourne, Pebble Beach, and Muirfield are all championship venues with centuries of history. For the more statistically minded reader, the chart includes courses from the following countries: the USA (45), England (11), Scotland (12), Australia (7), Ireland (4), Canada (3), Japan (3), New Zealand (3), Netherlands (2) and Northern Ireland (2), with the remaining eight located in Brazil, China, Dominican Republic, France, South Korea, Spain, Norway, and Wales.
